General Description/Purpose

This position may work as an off bearer, operate basic machines, assist in several different machine centers, and/or make dimensional and grade decisions in the defect process throughout the rough mill.

Job Responsibilities

  • Identify wood species and make grade related decisions based on established Stickley standards
  • Read, comprehend, and full fill production tickets and print scan tags as needed.
  • Read and Interpret part drawings
  • Inspect parts for quality and dimensional accuracy
  • Perform preventive maintenance as required
  • Set up work in the safest, most efficient manner
  • Operate assigned machines in a safe manner
  • Essential Knowledge, Skills

  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts
  • Utilize measuring tools such as tape measures and other measuring devices to sufficiently handle job tasks
  • Read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions
  • Ability to operate facility equipment as required
  • Performance Standards

  • Responsible for reporting to work at scheduled times
  • Responsible for reporting to work in a condition to work
  • Comply with performance criteria, standards of conduct as contained in company policy, employment procedures and responsibilities as described in the core handbook
  • Maintain a safe work environment at all times
  • Responsible for completing all assigned tasks and responsibilities as assigned
  • Work Schedule

  • 6:00AM 3:30PM
  • Requests to be scheduled off for a specific day require advance notification and approval by Supervisor/Manager
  • Generally scheduled for 40 hours a week but OT hours may be required based on the needs of the business
  • Physical Job Requirements

  • Move objects up to and 75 pounds with reasonable accommodations
  • Able to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions
  • Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle and move items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance

    Don't Be Fooled

    The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
