School Transportation Supervisor
Description:
The candidate will be responsible for providing administrative direction to the school district's transportation department. The Fayetteville-Manlius School District recognizes the importance of safe transportation of students to and from school. F-M buses serve approximately 4,682 public and private school students, traveling a total of nearly 850,013 miles. F-M buses are dispatched in 37 routes serving students throughout the 42.73 square-mile school district, plus 13 routes to stops outside the district. The department maintains 66 school buses and 36 district vehicles with an area of 92,421 sq. ft. of space (which includes 2 transportation buildings which account for 11,550 sq. ft.). Work is performed according to established policies and procedures and in accordance with applicable state, local, and federal laws, rules and regulations which apply to school district transportation operations and maintenance. The majority of activities are performed in the office, but the incumbent will spend time at between the bus garage and transportation office especially during time when school is in session ensuring that work is being performed and completed in an efficient manner. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Assistant Superintendent for Business Services with considerable leeway allowed for the exercise of independent judgment in carrying out the details of the work. Supervision is exercised over the work of department employees.Minimum Requirements:
The successful candidate will hold the civil service title, School Transportation Supervisor, be reachable, or able to transfer to the district.Salary/
